A profile of the identified gazetted forest reserves has been generated and includes Budongo Central Forest Reserve and Bugoma forest reserve which have been well researched on in several aspects. The rest of the gazetted forest reserves in bunyoro are heavily encroached and degraded, little known, with no documentation on the biodiversity status (Per comm. Range manager, Albertine rift system range-Robert Esimu; and DFO, Masindi).. Small Central Forest Reserves in Bunyoro are under threat from agriculture . Forest threats and issues in these forest reserves have also been established.
