NAHI's mission is to be a leader in the promotion of market based approaches for management and utilization of natural resources in productive landscapes.
Our goal is to promote conservation of natural resources in productive landscapes to improve people’s wealth and well-being through skills development and turning opportunities into lasting conservation and economic outcomes.
Objectives
- Develop and promote market based approaches for effective management and utilization of natural resources through payments for Environmental Services (PES), Private sector engagement in the management of environmental foot print and promotion of nature based enterprises for sustainable incomes and livelihoods
- Promote programs for enhanced productivity and sustainable utilization of natural resources in productive landscapes through development of natural resources management models, site ecosystems conservation and productivity enhancement technologies
- Enhance the capacity of communities, civil society organizations and the private sector in the design and implementation of market based natural resource management approaches through creation of learning centers and specialized training events
- Generate, manage and disseminate information on market based natural resource management approaches and best practices through conducting management oriented/adaptive/action research, establishing a one stop-information resource for publications; website; audiovisual documentaries and developing guidelines and document best practices in market based approaches for natural resources management.
